The reason Microsoft calls it windows is obvious. Imagine, if you will, some giant creature looking down on us from space. It is peering through a magnifying glass and watching everything we do. That, my friend, is Windows.
You use it to look at the Internet and what do you see? Billions of contradictions, millions of salespeople, Thousands of lonely hearts, and tons of false claims. It is no different than looking at us from space, hucksters with their traveling wagons going from town to town. Elixirs designed to cure ailments they haven’t even invented yet.
What was once pushy individuals worming their way through the crowd to get the most attention, are now Pop-up on your monitor. “Hey, look at me, buy my stuff, it’s better.” We are billions of ants scurrying about beneath the window, chasing the dollar, flashing our soundbites saying click on me, this is the one you need.
It is the advertisers
who ruined television and now they’re doing it on the Internet. Greed is like a thick syrup, spreading over
everything, the government, business, entertainment and it is simply sad. It is unfortunate that humans are not smarter
than they are. Even with all of our senses
we don’t see what is right in front of us.
Looking to outer space for intelligent life seems appropriate, as
looking through Windows I don’t see much around here. (Not you, of course. You’re the exception).

Agreed! And some folks are living through watching "Reels" for hours - little videos of other people's lives and forgetting to live their own.
