Smokey's Tavern

A catchy tune plucked on strings

Deep red lips on one who sings

A waiter with a tray of drinks

A hanging cloud of smoke that stinks,

Little did we know back then

the smoke would get us, not the gin.

I Forget...

Of all the passwords

I adore

The ones remembered

are no more,

Those I thought

would always stay

are the ones

that went away,

I thought were strong

turns out were lame,

What was our puppy’s

maid-en name?

Where are all

those clever clues

I thought

I could recall,

Somewhere on

a Post-it note

yet nowhere here

at all.
