Last Call

It’s when tomorrow is October

the leaves begin to blush

Turkeys go in hiding

We start the Christmas rush

When tomorrow is October

there are pumpkins on the porch

some are lit with candles

some a little scorched

Tomorrow is October

Summer’s in the past

the days that stretched forever

barely seem to last

September’s light just flickers

because it now is Fall

Another year behind us

Snag a taxi – it’s Last Call.
