To me - it is just wrong

So far, I’ve not found anyone who will sell me just one shoelace.  Why should I buy something I don’t yet need?  I guess, someplace there is a man with only one foot, who has a closet full of the other shoe.  But a shoelace is such an insignificant item.  Why?  Why must it be?  I don’t understand.  Hotdogs come with many to a pack, yet when I tell the vendor, “I’ll take one.” He does not complain.

A person, for their automobile, can buy just one tire and yet they come in a set of four.  My cousin, Miles, he always bums just one cigarette, while those show up in a pack of twenty.  Of course I could use a piece of string, but how unsightly would I be walking down the street with one lace and one string?  People would be pointing and laughing.  If I were walking with friends, they’d casually move away from me, wishing not to be associated with string man.

I don't think it is right, selling a mandatory two.  That's all I'm saying.
