Slow to catch on

I have a candle burning here on my desk and one across the room on that stack of books.  It is enough light to sit here and write.  Some might even say it lends a little atmosphere to the place.   I’m not sure about that.  I think the storm going on outside lends more atmosphere than these candles.

I really don’t remember ever getting this much rain before.  Thinking about it makes me glad to not have a basement in this house.  I’m sure it would be flooded by now if I did.

This is my favorite pen, but something isn’t right.  It feels bumpy or like there is something under this piece of paper.  I’ve looked under it and there is nothing there.  The wooden top to my desk is smooth, so I know it isn’t that.  I have even placed two clean sheets of typing paper under it, but whatever it is it is still there.  This is too frustrating.

Okay, it took me a few minutes to catch on, but I finally looked at the back side of the page and sure enough, something was stuck to it.

My guess would have been crumbs from that banana nut muffin you had with your coffee this morning.
