Focus

With my camera I can focus

my attention straight ahead

but without it, I do wander

thinking someplace else instead,

Maybe it’s a flash of light

or just the time of day,

It really doesn’t take too much

to make me look away,

When I haven’t got my camera

and I think of you instead,

I only see you up to here

you haven’t got a head.

Now THAT would keep me awake

Something’s floating in my cup

It might be a her or him,

A tiny bug, I cannot tell

but it’s trying hard to swim,

It flew in without thinking

an accident for sure,

To keep the thing from sinking

my coffee - I won’t stir.

Maybe it’s a coffee ground

and not a bug at all,

but now it’s shaking like a dog

and climbing up the wall.

To finish up my coffee

I don’t think that I should otter,

it'd be like gulping down a drink

of someone’s warm bath water.

Tug

Why I Hate Plumbing

Care to take a Guess?

Is this at the end of a runway
suggesting we look up
before walking across?

Is it an indicator light for
farmers on tractors
showing which row they just plowed?

High tide?

Password required

You can't just walk out into the ocean.

There is a gate you must get past and a secret password you must utter before the gate will open.

It has been put here for your protection.

There is also a sensor that detects the presence of sunscreen.  Without proper sunscreen the gate will not open.

The password is SHARKBITE

Do not share this with anyone.  Do not write it down.

Yes, I know I just shared it with you and I wrote it down,
but I have express, written consent from the baseball commissioner.

You never know...

Every now and then, I look through old pictures to see if there is anything blog worthy.

Many years ago, I sat along Main Street taking pictures as a 4th of July parade went by.

I have no idea who this kid is or what I ever expected to use this picture for.

I'm thinking that by now he is in his late 40's.  He has gone through school and has had a few jobs doing various things.

The wagon, however, has gathered value.  It has become an antique.  It, most likely, has traveled between families, been handed down and has maybe even done a few gardening chores.  It's also possible that along the way it was used for parts.  The wheels may have been removed and put onto some motorized go-cart.  Maybe the wooden sides were taken apart and used to build an ugly bookcase for a dorm room.

Of course, the worse case scenario is that the kid became a lawyer, discovered his photo on my blog and is now going to sue me for damages resulting from undue embarrassment as a result of his hat choice.
