Most people have never heard of Emmet Wilson, however, without him performing his weekly duties, entire countries would notice. For the last many years, Emmet, along with his massive brass key, has kept Big Ben wound and ticking. It is his job to ensure Ben never fails.
He is the only person in the last
several years authorized to venture into the tower to clean and wind the giant
clock. In all the years he’s been doing
that job, only once was he reprimanded for leaving a half-eaten bologna sandwich on the
upper shelf. Her majesty takes a dim
view on mice entering the famous timepiece, blind or otherwise.
