I just don't know.

He thought to give us eyes and ears

that we might see and hear.

He knew to put a sail on ships

to go both far and near,

Inside of every Walmart

he put a happy greeter,

He let us have some pocket change

so we could feed the meter.

He placed a steeple on the roof

of every church in town,

Then added wooden pews in rows

in hopes that we'd sit down.

He let us have a breakfast with

a steaming cup of Joe

He spread a little traffic jam

in hopes that we'd go slow.

Occasionally on summer days

he'd put a little breeze,

For that he gave us Kleenex

I guess he knew we'd sneeze.

He had fishes in the ocean

tug upon our line -

he thought they might go better

with a glass of chilled white wine.

He gave us shoes upon our feet

With laces we could tie,

He then put wings upon the birds

So they could fill the sky,

I just wish for all he did

He would have told us why.
