The Backpack

Each of us carries a backpack.  It contains all the attributes and oddities found in humans.  There is honesty, envy, hate, greed and brotherhood.  There are beliefs, misunderstandings and misconceptions.  There are good deeds as well as shenanigans.  There are good intentions and simple stupidity.  There is sadness and joy, shyness and gregariousness.  Rudeness, politeness and complexities and simplicities.  Boundaries and limitations, truth, wisdom and silliness.  Regrets (a few).  It holds sadness, fear, excitement and glee.  There are grudges (the heaviest to carry) premonitions and feelings, (strange and otherwise). Pain and sickness, hurt, hunger and torment.  Revenge, (although there's not a lot of money in revenge). The pack holds memories, both good and bad.  It contains ideas, (well developed and fleeting).  It holds locations, landmarks and plans.  It contains language, compassion and annoyance.   It has a sporadic memory retrieval system. (Falters with age) There is anxiety, compulsion and lust.  There is embarrassment, crudeness and anticipation.  Curiosity and knowing.  Awareness and faith.  There is a great deal of chance, while only a little luck.  There is hindsight as well as judgement (not always sound).  There is pressure and surrender, and it holds enough love for a lifetime.
