Mendocino Theatre Company

Because my usual red coffee mug was in the sink, waiting for me to wash it, I just took this mug instead.  That by itself isn’t all that blog worthy, however, my journey from the kitchen back here to my office was.

You see, the same button on the coffee maker I use for my red mug, filled this mug closer to the top, which meant I had to pay closer attention while walking with it.  If it should spill over, the coffee would stain the white ceramic tile floor.  I could wipe up the coffee, but the stain would remain behind.  That is simply the nature of stains.

That stain would eventually lead to yelling in harsh accusatory tones.  Disharmony would escalate proportionately to the cost of the tile replacement.

Relax, I didn’t spill it.  But it did get me to thinking about all of the various things going on within my body that went into stabilizing the liquid sloshing about in the mug.  Every muscle, every twitch and impulse, down to the furthest point away from my brain had to stay in constant contact with each other in order to ensure success.

Keep in mind, I had to do all this under the cover of darkness and I had to be absolutely quiet while doing it, or risk waking up the rest of the household.

OK, so maybe even that wasn’t blog worthy.
