I had almost forgotten what it was like to be cold. Then, during yesterday’s sudden cold snap, my shirts out on the clothesline began to crack and shatter and shards of plaid and pinstripe material fell to the ground, breaking into even smaller pieces.
Fluffy’s attempt to make it to the doggy door left him frozen in mid-jump. A look of shock was still on his face.
Across the patio I
noticed a crow had apparently been drinking out of the dog’s water bowl, when the
water instantly froze and now the crow’s beak was stuck firmly in the ice. He was frantically trying to pull free,
flapping his wings and looking up at me for a little help. However, being still in my morning slippers,
I didn’t think it wise to venture outside.
