Opportunity is Knocking

I noticed we make robots look like us.  We give them two legs and two arms, their knees bend like ours do and their heads swivel on the top of their bodies.

Wouldn’t this have been a good opportunity to make changes?  I mean, as long as we’re starting from scratch why not have hands that can morph into scissors when needed, sort of like a Swiss Army Knife gadget, maybe a spoon or tweezers.

Why not give their legs the ability to take two or three stairs at a time?  Take the baby steps out of the design process.  And vision shouldn’t be restricted to a single direction.  Give them a 360° view.  Build in a gyroscope to illuminate falling, and life-form sensors in their feet to prevent tripping over pets.

Everything around us has been designed for easy human interaction, but while we're still holding the chalk, lets erase a few things and redraw them.  Just see what happens.
