Type Cast

It is the angle at which the sunlight strikes the earth that determines the length of the shadow.  Depending upon the season, that angle can change and in changing, alter the shadow’s growth.

Snow can also affect the shadow, making a pine tree appear much fatter than it actually is.

Car headlights have the ability to push a shadow across a stretch of property, just as a scout’s flashlight might chase it away completely.

I have seen shadows turn into rabbits on a child’s wall or suggest lurking evil in a movie scene.

I have yet to see a shadow play the good guy in a feature length film.  They never get to rush in to save the day or end up with the beautiful leading lady.

Even though, they are always first to show up for work, appearing the moment the director yells, “Lights, camera – action.”

OK, we’ll use this one as an example of what not to do when writing a post for your blog.  If you don’t know where you’re going, don’t drag your readers along with you.  Scribble it on some scrap paper first.  Test it out on something disposable, but don’t plaster it here for all the world to see, and certainly don’t leave it here and just walk away.

“Hey!”

“Come back here.,”

“Delete this thing.”

“Hello….”
