Tucking in the worms
beneath a grassy blanket
We’ve had a splendid year
don’t forget to thank it,
It’s cloudy in the city
no so, on the farm
it really is a pity
a drought does so much harm,
A coffee mug of pencils
who buys them off the street?
a donut made at Wetzel’s
and breakfast is complete,
This poem is going nowhere
but I had these words to use
so I put them all upon this page
and now it doesn’t rhyme.
