There were two large woodpeckers exploring the tree out
front. In their search for bugs, they
covered most areas of the trunk and several of the larger branches. At no time did I see or hear them pounding at
the bark.
Had I been outside I would have snapped a few pictures for
this post. They were very colorful and
stayed for some time, searching for their breakfast.
There are more times I don’t have my camera ready than I care
to think about. I’ve missed some great
shots. I don’t even bother taking
pictures through a window or screen.
What’s the point? The quality is
simply too poor.
It is this continual failure, on my part, to capture life as it
happens, that has drawn me to focus on inanimate objects. Add to that, my love of words and I end up
with things like the very first Zippo lighter ever made.
