It makes a difference where on the planet you are standing at
the time. The stars may appear to be
aligned, but the reality of the situation might be that you are gazing out of
the garage window, the window is not open, and the car is running. It could be your thoughts that are drifting a
bit. And just as you begin to feel the
rotation of the earth, you collapse on the floor.
Now, if your eyes were still open, you’d notice the bug
crawling towards you. It hasn’t any
intent on causing you harm, it is simply curious, as it has never seen a face
this large before, or this close up.
Every now and then we find ourselves in a situation that was
neither planned nor anticipated. Take
yesterday, for example. I walked over to
the lanai, like I do first thing in the morning, to open the curtains. This time, however, there was a gigantic
beetle looking back at me through the glass.
It was at least twice the size of a footstool and, perhaps to another
beetle – nice looking, but to me it was hideous, with wandering antenna, creepy
eyes and morning breath.
I remember next, the oxygen mask covering my mouth and nose
and some paramedic saying something to me that I didn’t understand. He came into focus as I kept blinking. Then I noticed my neighbor standing off to
the side. “Your neighbor heard your car
running and pulled you out of the garage.
He probably saved your life.”
“Where’s the bug?”
“You must still be a little groggy, but you’ll be fine.”

Ya Got Me! When you started with the beetle, I forgot you were in a car in the garage!
