Not one single person witnessed it for themselves.  It has all been hearsay.  Someone told you and you believed it.  At the time, you had no reason to doubt them.  You have stuck to that belief your entire life, not only that but you celebrate it every year.

No matter the country, no matter what nationality or belief system, it’s always the same.  The only thing that changes are the number of candles.
