Paying attention in school was
difficult. I was easily distracted, not
just by the other children but distracted by my own thoughts. The teacher would be up in front of the class
jabbering on about something and a word or a phrase would catch my
attention. Once that happened, off I’d
go, expanding on that word or idea and I’d be lost for the next several
minutes.
Consequently, what I learned in
school wasn’t math, science, history or English. What I walked away with was the knowledge
that in life, I needed to pay attention, and maybe that was the best thing I
could have learned.
