There is a point in time between
when a person dies and when their mail stops showing up in their mailbox. Sometimes, that bit of time is considerable. The mail delivery system is simply a machine
that is set on automatic.
The notification system, however,
is variable. Many factors influence the
timing of letting the post office know. What can happen during this lag
time can be devastating.
Take for example, Mr. P. Edwin
Miller. He died in his sleep on October
3rd. The notification of his
passing did not reach the postal system until January 29th. That is 118 days of letters, bills, magazines,
Christmas cards and notices stuffed into a box that was designed to hold only a
quarter of that.
Tremendous pressure was exerted
against the inside walls of that mailbox, causing it to bulge and ultimately
explode, sending shrapnel across several yards, knocking birds out of the sky
and puncturing a tire on Sparklets water delivery truck.
It is because of events such as
this that Bob’s Funeral Services recommends the new/improved breakaway mailbox,
by Acme. They are designed with you in
mind, for after there is no more you.
Whether it is Sears catalog delivery day or simply 40 pounds of past due
notices, your neighborhood will be safe.
The adjustable sides of your Acme breakaway box is guaranteed to not explode. Friends and neighbors will speak kindly of
you during your eulogy.
Remember;
Trust Bob’s, for all your funeral
details.
