I don’t always consider the
journey when sending you a letter, my
thoughts on paper, the envelope and postage crossing rivers, mountains and time
zones. Making its way through
temperature changes and being handed from carrier to carrier, knowing very well that by the time you receive
it, things may have changed, or something along the way could have altered
its course, sending it into untold adventures.
Still, there’s something about
having an actual letter as opposed to email.
A electronic message has no depth or feeling. It seems cold and impersonal, while holding a
letter, even long after it has been received keeps a connection that lasts a
lifetime.
Even the well-traveled envelope
carries a message of its own. It shows a
history and adds to the story out beyond the margins.
