MOO...

Once in a while a thistle or something might attach itself to my sock.  I won’t discover it until I go to remove my socks or if it decides to poke me.  That isn’t any big deal, but today, after pouring milk into my cereal, I noticed not only that the carton was now empty but that it also rattled when I shook it.

Not quite a thistle in the sock but certainly enough of a concern to cause me to investigate.  I was hoping it might simply be a chunk of ice, as our refrigerator has been known to freeze things.  Nope, it wasn’t ice.  It was a plastic thingamabob that failed to make itself known until all the milk was gone.  Then it was free to no longer quietly float but instead bounce off the walls of the carton as I shook it.

I have to ask myself, Self – how could this have gotten inside of the carton.  I assume that entire process is automated, and if so, the carton must be mechanically folded and sealed.  The milk goes in and the final process installs the screw-on cap.  So, at what point could something get inside?  It couldn’t possibly fit through the pour spout.

I have consulted the Customer Support staff at Cow Central.  This is a holiday weekend, so all of their offices are currently closed, but if I hear back from them next week, I’ll let you know what they say.

Choking hazard?
