Beware of the Rapids

It’s been said that you can’t step into the same river twice.  The reality being that the river is constantly changing and every second that goes by it is something different.

I believe the same is true for the classroom.  Yesterday the instructor may have been all geared up to dive into the elastic properties of Silly-Putty, but today his focus is on the Twist-o-Flex watch band, by Speidel.

Wandering into the world of differences between a moveable rubbery substance and mechanical agility could leave you standing along the shore with wet socks and squishy shoes.

In this instance, it is the instructor that is ever changing.  Influenced by external forces or sporadic whims can take you far beyond the dry pages of the textbook, leaving you wondering exactly what questions will be waiting for you on the other side.

The curriculum is change itself, and therein lies the learning.

So True! I wanted to change my life, but I can barely change my password.
