Best in Show

 

My lawn was patchy

spots with no grass

I tossed out some seeds

and thought it would last

 

The birds saw me do it

they thought it was food

They gobbled it up

I thought that was rude

 

So I purchased some sod

and lay patches around

I watered it daily

It was soaked to the ground

 

The gardener came by

with his whirly-type mower

It sucked up the sod

looked worse than before

 

There were pieces of lawn

stuck to the trees

It hung from the gutters

and out to the street

 

Our HOA 

gave me quite a start

A fine for my lawn

but kudo’s for art.
