Exit - Stage Left

 

The window extends several feet up, so when I’m sitting here at my desk and the birds fly over the building, it’s like they’re flying right over my head.  I can’t help but look up as they go over.

Both the crows and the ibis are currently sharing the treetop across the street.  I’m wondering if it was a gathering like this that caused Alfred Hitchcock to make the movie – The Birds.

I know nature sends signals right before something is about to happen.  The birds and even domesticated pets know it.  They can feel earthquakes long before we do, and prior to a hurricane, you never see any birds around.  The only one’s remaining are us humans.

As far as survival skills go, humans are a couple of rungs down.  We do, however, have the quick-wittedness to grab things on our way out.

Can opener – Rats, didn’t think of it
