While wondering what fish would look like if they had necks,
I got to thinking about those frogs that have eyes that see independently from
each other. How uniquely wired their
brains must be to process separate realities.
On one side there is a poisonous spider heading towards him,
while on the other side is a teenager looking at her cell phone instead of looking where she is walking.
Deciding which poses the most imminent danger, the frog must decide
in which direction to hop. Knowing spiders also have the ability to jump, he
doesn’t want to try to hop over the spider, believing he could get bitten half
way through his jump, but also aware that
the likelihood of the girl looking up from her phone before accidentally
stepping on him is very slim,
Then, suddenly a neuro synapse in the frog’s brain clicks and
the frog remembers that he eats spiders, at which point he shoots out his
sticky tongue and quickly draws in the spider as a tasty snack.
This story has been a lesson about choosing wrong, and how a
girl’s grandmother suddenly heard a loud, “YUCK” over the phone.
The End
