Sometimes
a hat can tell you more about a person
than any country song.
Some hats have been around the block.
Some have seen the inside of rail cars,
been engulfed in trail dust
and in smoke-filled night clubs.
Sometimes meeting the hat
is enough to make you want to say
"Howdy."
