There is a 5 o-clock Owl
and 6:30 Crows
that refuse to sleep in
just why, Heaven knows
A dog barks at joggers
who try to stay fit
They are up before dawn
before anything’s lit
There’s a list of to-dos
bouncing round in my head
and a 5 o-clock Owl
as I previously said
There’s a fog on the lake
and a chill in the air
An uncomfortable ceiling
when I lay there and stare,
So I guess I’ll get up
shake off morning dew
turn on the computer
and send this to you.
