abound and serious tones quickly snuff out sparks of hope.
Elevated objections and
excited utterances until admonitions stifle the gathering.
Lunch
– recess and adjournments interrupt proceedings.
Speculations
seep out in strained whispers.
The
collection of 12 sift and probe through rubble, lies and good intentions, all while
personalities and egos scrape their already frayed edges.
A
long awaited statement is announced and fates are sealed.
Twelve
jurors stand, gathering purses, scarves and identities –
They
leave as individuals.
Their
lives - also forever changed.
