Episode 2

OAK VALLEY

As we left Oak Valley in our last exciting episode the Town Council was meeting to determine how they were going to solve their latest problem.

Nancy Phoepaw, the Mayor’s secretary and a foreign exchange student from New Brunswick, stands to read the purchase order aloud in an attempt to verify their order.

“Request for one (1) Ice Statue, to be an exact likeness to General Seating - see photo and to stand approximately…”

The Mayor interrupts.  “I’m sorry Nancy but I thought you said Ice Statue.  That should read - Nice Statue.”

Nancy:  “No Mr. Mayor it says Ice Statue.  I know, because that’s what I typed.  Isn’t that what you wanted?”

A silence fell on the town meeting.  Then as if an electric jolt had hit every chair in the room there was a mass run to the door and down the street to the statue.

“Hey, it is ice.” Came a cry from the crowd.

“Ya, my feet are wet.  This thing is melting!!!”

Well…  What a chilling story this is becoming.  Did the townspeople buy the biggest ice sculpture in the world?  Did Nancy make a slight error on the order?  Moreover - what is to become of Muffin?  Can he keep his cool?

Tune in again next week when you’ll hear Nancy say, “You know, I’m from the Bowling Capital of the world.  I can arrange to rent you all new shoes until yours dry out.  Of course they’ll have numbers on the back”.
