(Your country here) has distorted its
history books to reflect positively upon their own particular culture. They crank the children through an educational
press - squeezing out acceptable replicas in hopes of keeping civil
disobedience to a minimum, all the while downgrading media news to nothing more
than topics of fashion and gossip; they reduce TV programming to an endless stream of
ads, interrupted by laugh track sitcoms.
Books have been replaced with electronics, food stuffed with additives
and artificial flavors and colors, and health care has fallen to greedy
corporations, overseen by a pathetic government that puts itself ahead of its
citizens.
So what exactly am I getting at…
This Blog is the last remaining refuge
of yesterday. To all of you who look to
the past with a deep and desperate longing; to all who remember right from
wrong, good from bad and how yesterday was in fact fun, and filled with intelligence,
humor and promise; it is to all of you that I write these blatherings. I truly
believe that in this moronic society there is no better time than now to waste
time itself. Yes, you heard me
right. What have you got to lose? There is nothing worthwhile out there for
you, so get yourself a snack, settle back and enjoy this blog.
It’s
the closest thing to yesterday there is.
