Shot of a Lifetime

As many of you know, I carry a camera with me just in case I come across something that I feel I could use on my blog.  For the most part I stay away from the usual pictures of landscapes, sunsets, and morning dew rising from a pond or lake.  Not that those things aren't nice to look at, it’s just not my style.

I was really glad I had my camera with me last week.  I was up north and trying to quietly walk through the woods in hopes of maybe getting a couple pictures of wildlife, or odd looking mushrooms or something.   I've seen fox and of course deer and some things from a great distance that I wasn't sure what they were, but what I saw this time was amazing.  If I simply came back and told you about it you’d never believe me.  At first I didn't even believe it myself and I was right there.

The moment I saw it I froze.  I didn't want to make a sound.  I had not even put on after-shave that morning, knowing how acute the sense of smell is in most animals.  Very slowly I raised my camera and I was terrified that the click of the camera would give me away but it didn't.

My position was perfect and with my zoom lens I was able to make it look as if I were standing much closer than I was.

There is one person in this photo, and I saw or heard no one else around.  They stood like this for the entire time I was there.  In fact they were still standing like that when I left.  I doubt they ever knew I was there.

Needless to say, I didn't interrupt them to ask what in the world they were doing, nor did I ask them to sign a release form so I could use this photo.  I just snapped the picture and as quietly as possible made my escape.

If you know this person or have any idea what they were doing, please let me know.  To this day I've not been able to make sense out of it.

Thank you
