She didn't understand

She never could understand why he bought the boat.  He didn’t sail and hated fishing.  In fact, he had never taken it out on the lake.  Several times he tried to explain it to her, but she never got it.  He simply enjoyed photographing it.  He loved the craftsmanship, the wood, the lines and curves.  He had lost track of how many pictures he had taken; both color and black & white.  Some were extreme close-ups and others just artsy.  Every possible view had been taken, blown-up, framed, with many hanging on his walls.

 It made him feel good.

Same story but with a different title and an evil twist.

 Accident at Boggy Lake

Then one day while he was at work, she dragged the boat out to the edge of the lake and sunk it.  She was completely fed-up with his photographing obsession.   She thought for sure his focus would now change.

Before detective Chalmers had left the house, he happened to notice the husband smiling, as he was snapping all kinds of pictures of his wife’s chalk outline.
