You see a well-dressed man and make certain assumptions. Now envision that same man with a toothpick sticking out of his mouth. Suddenly your internal dialog has changed. Suddenly there is a comma.
It can be a toothpick, a scuffed shoe, a crooked tie, these are all punctuation marks affecting how we read the person.
Sunglasses inside, a bandage on a finger or a coffee stain on a shirt can edit our internal dialog. And those punctuation marks greatly impact our first impressions.
We don’t just notice
the suit, we read the entire paragraph.
