Visual Punctuation

You see a well-dressed man and make certain assumptions.  Now envision that same man with a toothpick sticking out of his mouth.  Suddenly your internal dialog has changed.   Suddenly there is a comma.

It can be a toothpick, a scuffed shoe, a crooked tie, these are all punctuation marks affecting how we read the person.

Sunglasses inside, a bandage on a finger or a coffee stain on a shirt can edit our internal dialog.  And those punctuation marks greatly impact our first impressions.

We don’t just notice the suit, we read the entire paragraph.

So True! We do make assumptions about our observations!
