I remember my mother had a red tomato made out of
material. It looked like a tomato and
was stuffed quite firmly. Its entire
purpose was a pin cushion. She had it
full of straight pins. It was handy
whenever she needed one.
Recently, having passed through a gauntlet of nurses, I
returned to my room to begin the process of painfully removing medical tape,
band aids, gauze and other patch work, from having been poked, jabbed and stuck
with IV’s for several days.
I have nothing against tomatoes; I just never wanted to be
one. I truly believe that future
technology will provide a way to draw blood without invading the body with
pointy sharp steel, as a stranger gently whispers, “Okay, a little poke”

We need the gadget from Star Trek! You know - Dr. Leonard H. McCoy - Bones. He just passed the magic gizmo over your body and it analyzed what's wrong and then fixed it!! No Pain - No Pokes!
