Then there was the time we found a frog in the coffee pot water. Lucky for the frog we noticed him before we started making coffee. The odd thing was that nobody ever questioned how he had gotten in there. Everyone seemed focused on the day’s schedule and simply suggested someone remove the frog and push the coffee button.
I eventually lost track of the frog and like everyone else
just got on with my day. That is until
we were all sitting around watching some made-for-television movie and when a
commercial came on, Lucy hit the mute button.
It was then, in the sudden quiet, we heard a croak coming from the
kitchen. We all looked at each other,
and Derek said, “Did everyone else hear that?”
Of course, we all did.
After a lengthy search we found the frog once again. This time he was sitting in the bagel side of
the toaster. Pam wanted to pull out the
crumb tray and just let him drop to the counter where we could catch him, but
this time I said, “Shouldn’t we figure out how he has gotten into these various
places? First it was the coffee pot and
now it’s the toaster.”
But Ted, who had not followed us all into the kitchen said, “The
commercial is over. The movie is
starting.”
Three people headed back to watch the movie, while myself and
Larry stayed in the kitchen to deal with the frog.
“Just pick up the whole toaster and we’ll carry it outside
and let the frog go in the yard. He can
eat the bugs and croak all he wants too.”
So that’s what we did, but even with the toaster laying on its
side, the frog wouldn’t come out. He
just sat in there and blinked at us.
After a few minutes we gave up.
We left the toaster out on the lawn and went back inside to watch the
movie.
It has been eleven weeks now and the toaster and frog are
still out on the lawn. Apparently, it’s the
frog’s Westinghouse.

Well, it's been cold lately and I think he is staying in there due to the Frigidaire!
