I just calculated that if I had been talking this entire
time, instead of writing, there would have been 441,000 ears listening to
me. This, of course, is based on the
numbers Google shows in attendance on my blog.
That is based on today’s date, total number of views, and
assumes each viewer has two ears. For
the record, I seriously doubt I could have talked for the 13 years this has
been going. Looking at the positive
side, with talking I wouldn’t have had any issues with spelling, punctuation or
tenses.
But considering the technology of the day, AI would have
spoken for me. There’d be no mispronunciations,
no mumbling or inadvertent burps. Most
likely, I could have chosen a dialect and accent for each particular area, region
or country listening. To you, I’d sound
familiar and close by.
I don’t believe, however, that a blog should be perfect. I think it should be an exact representation of its creator, warts and all. In real life, I scribble notes in the margins, have an occasional beverage while typing and enjoy a relaxed dress code 100% of the time. I’m fairly certain the overall impression this blogs leaves matches ZC perfectly.
