Where the air is thin

 Today I saw the mountains

from a window in my heart

and I hurt to climb up every one

pushing brush and thorn apart.

I watched a morning lizard

do his push-ups in the sun

as a hurried line of beetles

 went unnoticed one by one.

Today I felt a so slight breeze

take glances off my cheek

yet strong enough to carry off

my mind to mountain peaks.

Part of me is back again

to the pavement's silent burn

while part of me is too far gone

ever to return.

I wish my comments flowed like your poetry! Alas - all I have is Well Done!
