I didn’t watch it this time. I have seen it so much over the years that I can
play it in my head any time I want. I
believe it is the frequency with which we experience something that directly
affects our beliefs.
I find it easier to believe in Clarence
Oddbody, AS2 than to believe there is an honest and good government.
It seems it is the job of
journalists and the media to highlight only the negatives. They constantly report the shenanigans,
consequently that is the only part that gets played over and over, so it
becomes our truth.
Yes, I believe in angels. I believe there is good in the world, even if
it doesn’t make the front page. I
believe Farm-boy will rescue the princess, and John McClane will save the
day. It is comforting to believe those
things and live in a state of happiness, as opposed to listening to the endless
flow of bad news.
I’m not an idiot, however, I’m
fully aware the neighbor’s dogs could break in at any moment and eat my
Thanksgiving turkey. I just can’t go
through life worrying about it.

Brings to mind a dog named Pepper who ran into the house, jumped up on the dining room table and started eating our turkey! Oh ya - true story!
