We didn’t know her in High School
and even if we had, she wouldn’t have stood out. An average kid with average grades, and yet
something inside of her was festering.
She was popular, but only with a select few.
As time went on and the country
slipped into turmoil, creating divisions between right and wrong, good and
evil, she stepped into the spotlight.
War was raging, protesters grew in great numbers and there, balanced along
the edge of it all, her voice suddenly became heard, albeit brief.
Money, fame and drugs pulled her
in all directions, until suddenly she was gone.
She had been an average student who quite quickly slipped through this
life. Some didn’t like her, and yet, that
select few still plays her music, hearing that torment in her voice of so long
ago.
She was someone who would trade all of her tomorrows for a single yesterday.
