The sleeves
upon the jacket
were simply
way too long
His mother
told the check-out girl
“They must
have made it wrong.”
She bought
it for a discount
you couldn’t
see his hands
They had
found it hanging with the boys
but I’m sure
it was a Man’s,
Maybe a gorilla,
with arms that reach to there
could grab
and swing, from limb to limb
and the
jacket wouldn’t care,
But as
little Johnny walked to school
his cuffs
upon the ground
His Mother
simply smiled
at the
bargain she had found.
As reported
by the other kids
the wind
kicked up that day
and carried
little Johnny off
and took him
far away,
“It’s like
his arms were flapping.”
said a voice
from in the crowd.
“I thought I
heard him laughing.”
claimed another
girl out loud.
Now to this
day - nobody knows
if Johnny will
be found,
it's all together possible
he never will come down.
