In what do we see the value?
Does it exist in the country that backs it?
Is it within the image of the majestic Caribou?
The material used to make the coin?
Perhaps it lives within the weight.
Does the value only live in the people who agree it is there.
Does it hold up mathematically?
Are two of these valued at 50 cents?
And what then of a pocket full?
What of the artist who made it...
Surely some of the value is theirs,
their skill and craftsmanship,
and yet it is unsigned.
Were they paid, and if so - how much?
If they were shrewd, they would have negotiated
for a percentage based on use.
