The problem with technology is the glitch. Let there be one small glitch and our entire
world unravels. We hardly ever know what
causes it, but something as simple as a tiny thread poking out. We give it a tug, thinking it will break off,
but it never does. It quickly becomes
longer, one end fraying the edges of some continent, the other end between our
fingers.
Our fix is to hunt for scissors and trim it off, but
technology can’t be repaired with scissors or a panicked expression, and
because technology is down, we cannot Google a repair person, and time itself
has flung our phonebooks too far back into the pages of history.
Old repairs are unretrievable, lifeboats and the Calvary are
nowhere to be found. We are alone on the planet with no picture and no sound.
