Old Age

The thing about age

are the aches and the pains,

On the bathroom scale

It’s seeing the gains,

Things always hurt

that haven’t before,

I no longer flirt

with those I adore,

I’m worn-out and tired

I haven’t got zip,

Both my knees hurt

and so does my hip,

Trips to the doctor

is where I now go

New things confuse me

you might say I’m slow,

My hairs are not many

my teeth - they are few,

I haven’t much money

so what else is new?

Tuesday is Bingo

on Thursday’s we knit

My clothes all wrinkled

and mostly don’t fit,

To drive makes me nervous

please stay in your lane,

But to wish I were younger

you must be insane.
