I recently traveled through an old town established in the
early 1800’s, and the first thing I noticed was the windows.
(See example below)
The people of the time had a very narrow view of things
which I think explains why it took so many years for the population to see the
end of slavery, the beginning of the woman’s right to vote and in general all
of the much wider views we have of things today.
The moment building contractors started making windows wider people could
see a lot more of their world.
I believe this explains things quite nicely.
